Olson Kundig seeks a Graphic Designer to create visual materials that support the firm's business development and communications efforts. The role reports to the Marketing Manager, Business Development, and works closely with the visual media team, business development team, communications team, and firm leadership. Together they produce proposals, presentations, award submissions, publications, and digital content. This is an in-office role based in Seattle, Washington or New York, NY.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented designer with strong typographic and layout skills, a sensitivity to architectural imagery, and the ability to organize complex content visually. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a deadline-driven environment, can take direction from multiple levels of staff, and brings a genuine interest in design and the built environment.

Now in its sixth decade of practice, Olson Kundig is a collaborative design practice whose work includes cultural and museum projects, exhibition design, commercial and mixed-use design (including wineries and sports facilities), private and multi-family residential, hospitality projects, places of worship, interior design, product design, and landscape design. Key Responsibilities

Business Development and Pursuits
  • Design and produce proposals, statements of qualifications, portfolios, and case studies for competitive pursuits
  • Develop interview presentations, display boards, and pursuit-specific collateral in collaboration with the business development team and project leaders
  • Create diagrams, maps, and information graphics that clearly communicate project ideas and team qualifications
  • Maintain and update proposal templates and graphic standards to support consistency and efficiency

Communications and Visual Media
  • Design graphics for award submissions, lectures, publications, media kits, press announcements, and reports
  • Create social media graphics, email communications, and newsletters, including animation and video assets
  • Support presentation and lecture materials for firm leadership, including video editing as needed
  • Contribute to special projects such as books, exhibitions, and environmental graphics

Digital Asset Management and Photography
  • Upload, tag, rank, and organize photo, video, and graphic assets in the firm's digital asset management system
  • Support photoshoot coordination, including shot list development and post-shoot image selection with project teams
  • Perform image editing, retouching, and processing, and maintain organized archives of image originals

Brand and Production
  • Support the production and consistent application of the firm's visual identity across print and digital materials
  • Coordinate with vendors, including board production and printers for business cards, stationery, and other collateral
  • Help maintain graphics team tools and processes, including task boards, project punchlists, and boards inventory

Qualifications
  •  4-6 years of graphic design experience creating a range of print, digital, and web-based graphics, ideally in the AEC industry (architecture, engineering, and construction) or a related design field
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • Strong design, typographic, and layout skills, with the ability to organize complex content visually
  • Experience with image and video editing and retouching
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Bridge, Lightroom), Microsoft Office, and WordPress
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems such as OpenAsset, and experience with print vendors and production processes, a plus
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment without a loss in quality
  • Interest in architecture, design, and the built environment
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with a desire to stay current on production techniques and design trends
  • Dependable and collaborative, with the ability to take direction and incorporate feedback from multiple levels of staff

Compensation
$76,000 - $84,500. In addition to a dynamic and creative culture, Olson Kundig provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, health coverage, 401(k) with employer match, performance-based bonuses, profit sharing for eligible roles, a transportation subsidy, and more.
