We are seeking an Architectural Designer II to support the design, planning, and documentation of projects of moderate size and complexity. In this role, you’ll contribute to creative design solutions, technical development, and project delivery while working closely with more senior team members in a collective, design-focused environment.

For this position based in Chicago, IL, the annual salary is between $70,000 and $80,000. Final salary decisions are made based upon the extent and relevance of the candidate’s experience, as well as internal equity and external market factors.

Primary Responsibilities
- Design, Planning and Coordination:
Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of projects. Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and carry out complex or novel assignments requiring new or improved techniques and procedures. - Project Support and Documentation:
Review, compile, and prepare project specifications, construction documents, and technically related building components and details. Independently execute as well as support aspects of the construction administration process. - Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members and contribute to accurate, high-quality project delivery. - Project Communications and Presentations:
Take on aspects of external project communications and prepare presentations with subconsultants and clients, with support from senior team members. - Additional duties and projects:
As assigned or necessary.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Education: Professional degree in architecture or another related field.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of related professional experience or similar role with equivalent work experience.
- Digital Literacy: Proficient modeling and documentation skills using Revit; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Portfolio: Submit a portfolio demonstrating design, technical, and drafting abilities.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, vendors, and consultants.
- Technical Ability: Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize an architectural drawing set.
- Work Style: Ability to manage multiple tasks with urgency in a fast-paced, creative, and dynamic environment.
